Rakesh Roshan who has given us several hit films such as Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai (2000), Krrish (2006) and Krrish 3 (2013), is of the opinion that superheroine films wouldn’t do well at the box-office. In an interview with a leading daily, he said, “If I have a superhero in my film, then I can have a ‘superheroine’. I don’t think I can make a female-based film, as I believe the audience won’t accept that.”

We guess the filmmaker is unaware that women-centric films such as Kangana Ranaut’s Queen, Anushka Sharma’s NH 10 and Sonam Kapoor’s Neerja among others set the cash registers ringing. In fact, both the audience and the industry folk are welcoming the change whereby an actress can carry the film on her shoulders.

Roshan also went on to give advice to the new lot of actors like Sidharth Mahotra, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor and said that they should pick their films wisely. “Newcomers wish to become stars overnight. Hence, they tend to take up a lot of films at once, which isn’t right,” he asserted.
